Seva Sindhu Bus Pass?

Now citizens of Karnataka can apply for a Bus Pass online through the Seva Sindhu Service Plus portal. It’s a good facility offered by the Karnataka government to daily commuters. All applicants can submit their application on the online portal and get their bus passes.

Citizens can apply for a daily, monthly pass, or annual pass. Please note that you can also apply for a bus pass by visiting any bus stand but the online application method through the Seva Sindhu portal is more convenient and students can apply for a bus pass anytime through their smartphone.

Bus passes offer discounted prices as compared to regular bus ticket prices. Karnataka government offers further discounts to students and the Physically handicapped and even offers free bus passes to women and physically challenged people.

Objectives of Online Bus Pass Scheme:

There were several objectives that were kept in mind while launching bus pass services in different transportation departments.

How to apply for a Bus Pass on the Seva Sindhu portal?

Now citizens of Karnataka can use the online application facility and get their bus pass. It’s a very easy process and there is no need to stand in a long queue. Please note that the online application process will be the same whether you are applying for KSRTC bus pass, BMTC bus pass, KKRTC bus pass, or NWKRTC bus pass. What are the documents required for KSRTC bus pass documents?

Below mentioned documents will be required to submit an online application for a KSRTC bus pass.

  • Declaration form duly signed by Headmaster or Principal.
  • The paid receipt of the current education year of the school or college fees
  • Proof of Residence Certificate
  • Caste certificate If applicable

Service Charge (Free for Online Submission): Rs. 35 service charge if you apply through the online facility available on Bangalore One, Grama One, Karnataka One.

KSRTC student Bus Pass online application:

Please follow the below steps.

Step 1: Visit the Seva Sindhu website.

Step 2: Click the Departments & Services link in the top menu or visit the direct web page at https://sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in/Sevasindhu/DepartmentServices.

Step 3: Now visit the 4th page and click the “Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation”. You can also search “bus pass”.

Please click the search icon to get search results for all types of bus pass applications for different departments that can be applied through the Seva Sindhu portal.

Step 4: In the KSRTC department, click the “Issue of Bus Passes to School Children” link. You will find application-related details in a pop-up.

Step 5: Click Apply Online to start the application process.

Step 6: On the next page, log in to the Seva Sindhu Service Plus account.

Step 7: After login, download the Declaration Certificate form and proceed with the online application.

Note: The declaration form must be duly signed by your school Headmaster or Principal.

You will find an online bus pass application form. Enter the student name as written on your Aadhaar Card. Enter all required details.

Step 8: Verify your mobile number by entering the OTP received on your mobile. After that check if all the information you have entered is correct.

Step 9: Select the “I Agree” check box and Submit your application. You can review your filled application and make corrections if required.

Step 10: Click the Attach Annexure button. Attach all the documents such as address proof, cast certificate, tuition fee receipt, and declaration certificate from the educational institute, and click the Save Annexure button.

Step 11: On the next page, click the “e-Sign and Submit“. It will authenticate you as per your Aadhaar. Aadhaar-based Authentication is required to get a student bus pass. Accept the terms & conditions and click the OTP button.

Step 12: Enter your Aadhar Number and Click on the Get OTP button. Enter OTP and click on Submit.

After the form submission, your Sakala acknowledgment will be displayed on the screen. Save this acknowledgment slip for future reference.

How to get the bus pass after approval?

  • If the bus pass application has been approved, the student will receive further communication on the registered mobile number through an SMS.
  • The name and address of the counter to collect the pass will be available in the SMS.
  • Students can visit the designated counters at KSRTC bus stands or Karnataka one and Grama one counter and collect the bus pass by paying the prescribed fee.
  • Fees can be paid through Cash/Debit card/Credit card/UPI.

Karnataka Shakti Scheme

Now all the Women in Karnataka state are eligible for a free bus pass to travel in the city. It’s a new scheme launched by the government to empower women and provide financial relief along with providing a convenient traveling facility.

Shakti Smart Card will be issued to all women who apply for the Karnataka Shakti Scheme. Shakti scheme is available for all women residing in Karnataka state (including girl students and Transgenders).

Girl students residing in neighboring states attending schools / Colleges in the State of Karnataka and those students residing in Karnataka state attending schools / Colleges in neighboring states, are required to apply and obtain student concessional bus passes for traveling in KSRTC buses.

Please note that the Shakti scheme is available only for city transport, ordinary buses, etc. The government has also put “Free travel for women” stickers on the buses that are included in this scheme. For premium traveling services such as luxury and inter-state buses will not be covered under the Shakti scheme.

How to apply for a free bus pass in Karnataka for women?

To avail of the free bus travel for women, currently, you don’t have to apply for a pass. However, you will need to apply for a Shakti Card on the Seva Sindhu website and obtain the card in 3 months. The registration for the free bus travel for women in Karnataka is yet to start.

How to apply for a BMTC student bus pass?

Apart from applying on the Seva Sindhu website, Students can apply for BMTC Bus Pass through the BMTC website also. The procedure for the online application is given below.

  • Visit the official webpage http://student.mybmtc.com:8280/bmtc/login/secure.
  • You will find links to different types of student bus pass as mentioned below.

  • Click on the applicable link. An online application form will appear on the screen.

How to renew a bus pass in Seva Sindhu?

Below steps will be required to submit the KSRCT Bus Pass application.

i-Visit the Seva Sindhu Portal and click the Departments & Services link.
ii-Under the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation, click the “Renewal of Bus Passes to Physically Challenged” link.
iii- Check all the required information and fill out the online application form.
iv-Your Bus Pass will be renewed after paying the required fee.
v-You will also get an SMS.

Documents and eligibility for a Bus Pass for Physically challenged?

A physically challenged person who is a resident of Karnataka will get Bus Pass at a lower fee. Currently, the fee for the Bus Pass for the Physically challenged is Rs.660/- per annum. A person’s disability must be 40% or above.

After getting the passes, all physically challenged persons can travel in City, Suburban, Ordinary, and Express routes of KSRTC, BMTC, NEKRTC, and NWKRTC buses within the limit of 100 km from the place of residence.

Applicant must be physically challenged and must have a Disability certificate and I.D card issued by the Department for Empowerment of Differently Abled and Senior Citizens. Apart from the Disability Certificate, Address proof, and Aadhar card will be required to apply for a Bus Pass.

Applicants must have the user credentials provided by the Drugs Control Department to apply for this service. The department may ask the applicant to re-submit documents if required.

Online process:

Open the Seva Sindhu website and apply online.

Offline process:

To get a Bus Pass or renew the Bus Pass, the applicant must visit the concerned office in person and Submit the original Disability card. The person must fill out the Bus Pass form at the concerned divisional office. The disability certificate and application form will be verified by the concerned officer.

A copy of the ID card issued by the District welfare office of Disabled Persons & Senior Citizens and certified by minimum 02 Medical Officers viz Chairman/members of the District Medical Board where the beneficiary is living must be attached to the application form.

Please note that passes will be renewed every year from 1st January to 28th February but new passes can be applied throughout the year.
